Westchester's NYSDOT Helps Fight Buffalo Snow Storm

VALHALLA, N.Y. New York State Department of Transportation employees from Valhalla and Katonah have been called in to help fight the heavy snow that is burying their upstate neighbors in Buffalo. "DOT is a statewide organization, so, as a matter of practice, when storms hit various parts of the state we routinely move our assets and people around the state to help the impacted areas," said Gina DiSarr, a NYSDOT spokeswoman for Region 8. NYSDOT's Region 8 is sending in 114 staff members and 73 pieces of equipment to assist Region 5 's snow maintenances efforts in Buffalo.
